... if you wish to post this in your journal, it's been requested that you title it "I'm afraid of _ out of 72 common fears"

If you get more than 30, I strongly recommend some counseling
If you get more than 20, you’re paranoid.
If you get 10-20, you are normal.
If you get 10 or fewer, you’re fearless.
People who don’t have any are liars

Love and death, both the ultimate desire and thus the ultimate fear.

Do you sometimes live in terror of meeting someone else and falling in love with them and having it destroy what you have with M? Because I know I get that feeling in relationships at times.

Sure do. Because that's pretty much how we got together. Much as what I have with M is way more awesome than my relationship with my ex.

Awww. But it sounds as if he is right for you. One of the ex-Kiwi Iwi girls was a bit like that - she and her partner were both married, I think, when they met, and didn't get together till she at least was separated, but she says they "knew" the moment they met. Of course they are very new agey.

I've always been rather miffed that Twu Love and Dramatic Mutual Meaningfuls have passed me by. Not that there hasn't been any, because the Ex-Boy is pretty special, but it would be quite nice to be an object of emotional desire as well as sexual. Me being the quintessential mistress and all.

I think we are pretty much perfect for each other, although I wasn't sure at first. It was weird getting together with him though, all instinct and no logic.

You talk as if it's all over! It's not all over! Not by a long chalk.

Well, no, it's not, but I think when you've had a taste again you remember what it was like back when nothing mattered, and frankly I'm 44 this year and the men available to women my age are thin on the ground. Also generally on the top of the head, but not round the waist, unfortunately, and all of them are mostly mental. I do know women older than me who routinely score young things, but they're younger looking than me and also, they, you know, go out. And I do need someone I can converse with.

Fear of the Ocean? That's got to be a tough one. Although fairly rational, given how many people drown in it every year.

It's really a double up on fear of deep water for me. *Shudders*

Well if it's any consolation fear of the ocean goes by the frankly awesome name of Thalassaphobia. If you tell people you are a Thalassaphobe you might get mistaken for a member of an exotic minority ethnic group of some sort.

How come phobias get to have such awesome names? It's enough to make me want to be afraid of ducks and peanut butter.

My personal favourite is 'Hibernophobia'. I can't remember what it's actually a fear of, but it's not a fear of Scotland, which is what it sounds like to me. (I think a fear of Scotland is called 'common sense')

Could be a fear of winter, in which case I borderline have it.

I coined "hiberphobia" for a fear/hatred of winter. (I claim it as mine because it doesn't come up on Google; I used it in a comment on an LJ post which must have been locked.)

I would have assumed it's a fear of Ireland. *googles* It is! Fear of an Irish planet, dude. Erin go bragh. *puts the Fear*

Yeah duh! Fear of Scotland would presumably be Caledoniphobia or some such.
