Robert Plant

I was going to say he couldn't be any more folk unless his name were Bob, and then I realised it is.

Fun with words

Anthokleptomaniac: one having a compulsion to steal flowers (Greek anthos, a flower, as in anthology).
Anthrokleptomaniac: one having a compulsion to steal men or people (Greek anthropos, a man or human being, as in anthropology.

Ithyphallic: having or pertaining to an erect penis (Greek ithus, straight).
Ichthyphallic: having or pertaining to the penis of a fish* (Greek ichthus, a fish).

Do fish have penises? I think not.

All this fun awaits you when you read the dust jacket of Amy Richlin's The Garden of Priapus: Sexuality and Aggression in Roman Humour.

*Or possibly, having a penis that is like a fish...

in which I show off

Dear flatmates

I hereby pledge a magically infinite supply of small change to support the buying of milk. The object being that NONE OF YOU EVER BUY PAM'S MILK EVER AGAIN! The "new improved" lid drives me nuts, and seeing I seem to be the only one who eats breakfast as God intended it, I invariably end up breaking the milk-hymen and spilling it all over the place. Not fun when you're in a hurry.

Love, Me.
Come on, who else would use the term "milk-hymen"?

****

I used the word "aleatoric" in an email. I don't think I'd ever typed in out before, because as I was doing so I realised its etymology. Being me is great sometimes.

*Daydreams*

So I'm all, I suppose I should update, but really, there is nothing exciting to say. I'm sick, have rehearsals coming out my ears, and two assignments and a test that need serious attention. I have also become semi-addicted to crosswords and the target puzzle.

Ooh, went around to PT's on Tuesday night and watched Hustle. It is the British goodness.

Now I am going to look for nice juicy fic to read instead of doing work. Because I'm sick, I need to look after myself. Really.
